The impact of climate change on the deterioration cannot be ignored, but can be addressed by new approaches in design. Existing concrete structures, for which design has not considered the effects of changing climate may deteriorate more rapidly than originally planned.]]> Wed 24 Jul 2013 22:24:24 AEST ]]> Climate adaptation engineering for extreme events: is adaptation a workable solution to climate change? https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:22183 Wed 11 Apr 2018 14:17:52 AEST ]]> Indirect cost and benefit assessment of climate adaptation strategies for extreme wind events in Queensland https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:31274 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:44:31 AEDT ]]> Climate adaptation engineering and risk-based design and management of infrastructure https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:18854 2 atmospheric concentrations, temperature and humidity will increase corrosion of concrete and steel structures. The chapter will describe how risk-based approaches are well suited to optimising climate adaptation strategies related to the design and maintenance of existing infrastructure. Climate adaptation strategies may include retrofitting or strengthening of existing structures, more frequent inspections, or enhanced designs. An important aspect is assessing at what point in time climate adaptation becomes economically viable. Stochastic methods are used to model infrastructure performance, effectiveness of adaptation strategies, exposure, and costs. These concepts will be illustrated with state-of-the-art research of risk-based assessment of climate adaptation strategies.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:03:16 AEDT ]]> Impact of climate change on corrosion and damage risks to concrete infrastructure https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21837 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:00:50 AEDT ]]> Direct and indirect cost-and-benefit assessment of climate adaptation strategies for housing for extreme wind events in Queensland https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:19554 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:58:27 AEDT ]]> Climate change impact and risks of concrete infrastructure deterioration https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:17962 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:56:22 AEDT ]]> Climate change adaptation for corrosion control of concrete infrastructure https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21759 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:53:08 AEDT ]]> Risk assessment of climate adaptation measures for Australian housing subject to extreme wind events https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21663 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:52:22 AEDT ]]> Influence of global warming on durability of corroding RC structures: a probabilistic approach https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:19360 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:52:01 AEDT ]]>
